Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your cake pan or line with parchment.
  • In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
  • Add eggs and vanilla. Beat well.
  • Combine dry ingredients. Slowly mix into wet batter.
  • Stir in milk until smooth.
  • Pour into prepared cake pan. Bake for 28–32 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool for 15 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely before frosting.

Notes

Try this with chocolate chips or lemon zest for variation. Perfect for round, square, or loaf pans.
