Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • plus flavor-specific ingredients e.g., ½ cup cocoa for chocolate, 1 tbsp matcha, etc.

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a round cake pan.
  • Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
  • Beat in eggs one at a time.
  • Add vanilla and chosen flavor ingredient.
  • Combine dry ingredients, then add alternately with milk.
  • Pour into pan and bake for 35 mins or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool before frosting.
