Homemade Chow Chow Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs cabbage
  • 2 lbs green tomatoes
  • 1 lb onions
  • 1 lb green bell peppers
  • 2 cups apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 tbsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tbsp celery seeds
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 3 cloves garlic

Instructions
 

  • Finely chop or shred all vegetables.
  • In a large pot, combine chopped vegetables with vinegar, sugar, and spices.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil, then simmer for 20–25 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.
  • Transfer hot mixture into sterilized jars.
  • Let cool and seal. Store in the refrigerator for up to several weeks.
